The Retirees Social Club met on Thursday, August 19th at Bushwood's Sports Bar and Grill on the southwest side of Cedar Rapids. They had 18 in attendance. They will be meeting again on Thursday, September 16th at The Safari Lounge located at 229~16th Avenue, SW in Cedar Rapids. The Retirees Social Club is open to all IBEW Local 405 Retirees and their spouses or widows. If you like to attend, please contact Leta Wall at (319) 396-5850.

The 5th Annual Autumn Bus Trip is FULL! This will be our biggest trip EVER!! We will be traveling with a charter bus as well as two vans. Congratulations to the IBEW Local 405 Retirees! We started out in 2005 on our first bus trip with a partial charter bus full and have advanced to overflowing five years later. IBEW Local 405 Retirees are a vital part of our organization. Besides meeting monthly
for the Retirees' Social Club, Local 405 counts on them to get the monthly newsletter ready
to be mailed out. They have also become very active in helping with political
campaigns by volunteering their time making campaign yard signs, phone
banking and getting fliers ready to go out to voters.
